The Groundbreaking Era!

Hillsboro Health is celebrating its groundbreaking era with the third groundbreaking in less than a year.

On Monday, March 2, 2026, Hillsboro Health broke ground for a new medical office building that will house Urology Services and Dr. Roberta Koeppen. The building will also be home to the expanding Pain Management Clinic. The building site is located on Hillsboro Health’s main campus, east of Fitness & Aquatics and south of the new Therapy Services office building.

This ceremony was enjoyed by board members, community stakeholders, representatives from The Korte Company and hospital staff. Due to inclement weather, the ceremony took place within the gymnasium of Hillsboro Health Fitness & Aquatics.

During the ceremony, CEO Michael Alexander expressed his gratitude to the board for their continued support of these expansion projects. He shared how important it is for both the hospital and the community to grow hospital services. After his remarks, Alexander exited the building headed toward the dig site for the ceremonial first scoop. In true Hillsboro Health groundbreaking fashion, and the support of The Korte Company, Alexander operated the excavator himself and made the inaugural dig. Laughter and applause filled the gymnasium in support of the project.

The building is scheduled to open in fall of this year.
